Government Horticulture Experts 1893-1988

Staff of the Advisory Services Division, Horticulture Division and their predecessors of the relevant departments of the New Zealand Government.

I have a personal belief that their contribution to the progress of the NZ Horticulture has never been adequately recorded.

Notable rare exceptions are Horticulture Advisory Officer specialists, Pat Sale and John Wilton both Bledisloe Cup Recipients the Industry’s top award. At the time NZ Fruit growers  Association and Horticulture NZ. I am pleased to say that I was responsible for the nomination of John. (subject of a another publications)

This is a major undertaking for future publication – draft being compiled and material being gathered. Ex staff are invited to provide information on their years of service and designation/location and submit reminiscences they would like included.
