Leaving the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority after managing it’s establishment stage and more recently as Projects manager, Robert Findlay reflects on its progress. It’s development benefits and progress made since inception last year.
His involvement with HEA commenced in October 1983 which included select committee and agricultural caucus committee meetings.
It is his intention to write more about his role in the early development of this Quango ( a semi-public administrative body outside the civil service but receiving financial support to set up, from the government, which makes senior appointments to it. ) And the vigorous discussions with Treasury and Trade and Industries about the need for consistency of product and order in the market place. This will be part of his proposed book: Memories of a Horticulture Advisory Officer, Horticulture Division, NZ Department of Agriculture-Advisory Services Division, NZ Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. 1969-1988 Work in progress
