NZ Agricultural Science. Vol 17 No 2. Abstract:

The main horticultural activities inter alia apple, apricot and black currant production in Central Otago and Southland are reviewed. With most crops there has only been a slight increase in the area grown. Black Currants are the exception, with a rapid increase in the area grown. It is anticipated that in the next few seasons  there will be an increase in the peach and nectarine area.
