Compiled by Horticulture Advisory Officer (HAO) Robert Findlay (RF) the ninth and last HAO based in the Roxburgh Office. He also serviced Southland. This leaflet list s the names and the crops grown by producers in the Teviot Valley as at 1983.
The first Roxburgh based Orchard Instructor was Stan Frew from 1935.
The document has back ground notes too mentioning – the location of the offices first on the corner of Scotland and Jedburgh Street opp Robbs motors then 12 Hawick Street opp Pinder motors.
Visits arranged by HAO of pomologist Dr Don McKenzie DSIR and Mr Bob June ex J Wattie canneries looking at the prospects for asparagus.
